Vintage Kelly Quality Axe Hatchet – Epoxy Resin Handle

Custom Kelly Quality Axe Manufacturing Company hatchet has been completely restored, refinished, and is razor sharp. Head shows normal signs of use and is in very good condition; poll has hammer marks on it and has pitting all over – no cracks, breaks, repairs or chips. Stamp on the back of the head is a faint next to poll from use, and most letters are legible, front logo is clean and clear; see pics for actual details.

New handle has been cast with Total Boat High Performance 2:1 Epoxy and has an edge joined hickory core. Handle was created with spent 9mm casings filled with red, white, and blue metallic iridescent epoxy and then cast with black transparent dye, allowing the casings to be visible through the epoxy. The epoxy has been polished to a glass-like finish and is stunningly beautiful. There are a few exposed pieces of brass that can be felt and seen.

The handle has been HAND-SHAPED and hand-rubbed with Odie’s Oil for a clean, smooth look and feel. Clean seal around top and bottom of eye and hung with a hardwood wedge – handle sticks out from head approximately 3/16”.

Comes with a 9/10 ounce English bridle leather sheath that has been treated with leather conditioning oil. The sheath has been assembled with solid brass burr rivets that have been hand peened for a traditional hammered look and has solid brass Sam Browne button stud closures.
